For all the times that we have visited this area we have never been to the market in La Lavandou. What a treat it was to discover it. The market there is MUCH larger than any of the other markets we have visited in the area. The bad news is that we were late arriving and only had about 45 minutes to browse before the vendors began closing up. The good news is that it is held every Thursday so we will be able to go back before it is time to go home. Skip was very happy to find the olive oil for pizza. We first had the spicy oil for pizza in Cannes several years ago. We bought some on our last trip and have just recently run out. I bought a bottle of olive oil with truffles and I'm told it is very good on vegetables, especially boiled potatoes.
After the market closed we decided to take a ride up the coast (in the direction of St. Tropez) to Cavalaire-sur-Mer. Cavaliaire is a seaside town that has a casino...downstairs there is an area that has slot machines, and upstairs they have poker and roulette. We had lunch in a little bistro and then gambled for a few hours. I might add we were successful in our gambling, this time leaving with more money that we came with. That, of course, is LOTS of fun! (No pictures were allowed inside the casino.)
Here are a few pictures of the cafe where we had lunch before gambling.
