La Rasteque

The rain continues to fall and we are hungry.  What to do?  Walk the short few minutes to the village or drive to Bormes-les-Pin (at the foot of the village)?  There is a restaurant there that we've tried to eat for several years but it has always been closed.  Skip called and learned that they were indeed open.  So we decided that it would be worth the trip in the rain and wind to drive there, especially if we were able to secure a parking place close by... and with the bad weather on a Wednesday night we thought there was a good chance of getting a good parking spot.  Off we went and sure enough a parking space right in front  of La Rasteque was available!

As we were enjoying this lovely meal we noticed some of the pieces of sculpture/pottery decorations.  Skip and I both immediately exclaimed how much it looked like Rene's work (Rene Terras our friend from Pierrefeu who is a potter.)  Upon closer inspection we were all but certain he was the artist.  The waiter did not know the artist, but the owner, Patricia, did.  She confirmed that indeed Rene was the artist.  We we so thrilled that another of our artist friends has their works exhibited in a fine restaurant.  Here are a few Rene's pieces that are exhibited in La Rasteque:

It's not hard to understand that someone else loves Rene's work as much as we do!!

Many thanks to Patricia and her husband, chef Jerome, as well as the rest of the staff at La Resteque for a wonderful evening!
