While it snowed yesterday, sometimes heavily, today was a perfect if not cool day for a parade. The sun was out and the skies were blue. We heard the sounds of drums several hours before the parade and from our balconies you could see people scurrying around in preparation for the event. Food vendors were in full swing and the air was filled with a sense of excitement. People began lining the parade route and jockeying for good positions to view the festivities. We were lucky because we made reservations for lunch at la Tonnelle, right in the window and perfect for parade viewing and people watching. We had wonderful lunch and then sat back to watch the parade. It was awesome.
